“Each of us have a gift, you see, given us freely by the universe. And each of us, with every breath, gives something back.”

I once asked my department head why he hired me at age 23 with no prior experience and only a bachelors’ degree. He just stared right back at me and said, “What are you talking about?! you had so much experience, right out the gate!”
He was right. My first teaching assignment was working with second grade students as a senior in high school. All through college, I tutored, taught Saturday science extension courses for gifted and talented students, and spent hours upon hours observing and teaching students as a pre-service teacher and science education researcher. As it turns out, even though I have 15 years of formal teaching experience under my belt, I have never really left the classroom. I love teaching. I love working with students as the move from the scary and frustrating place of not knowing into confidence and understanding. I love many other things in life, but I am passionate about teaching.

Currently, I reside in Norwell, MA. When I’m not thinking about teaching or working with students, I am usually hiking with my family and dogs, running with my wife, racing duathlons, playing or listening to music, or playing board games and DnD with my friends. I usually find some way to search for the physics in everything I do along the way, reveling in my own wonder at the world around me.
